$1300 Chandelier recreated for under $500
When we received a call from a frantic customer that her custom chandelier had been destroyed in a house fire, our hearts went out to her. She was devestated that she had lost the special piece that she bought only months before for $1300.00. She was in hopes that a Cristalier designer could help her recreate the chandelier on a tight budget. We suggested she consider Cristalier chandelier replacement crystals in aqua and clear. After some creative searching by our designer and the customer we were able to locate a very similiar chandelier for under $300. The chandelier we found did not have any crystals or bobeches on it but the shape, finish and size were very close to what she had had prior. From there we got to work choosing the crystals she would need to adorn her chandelier. |

| From the photo she supplied the Cristalier designer was able to determine the chandelier used clear as well as aqua chains of crystal beads which are sold at Cristalier.com for $7.95 each 36" strand. She would need 8 strands of clear to create the swags shown. She would also need 7 aqua chains for the brilliant splash of accent color. | |
To give the chandelier more area to hang crystals, we needed to add bobeches. Six clear glass bobeches at $3.00 each were added to the bronze arms to hang accent crystals from. Now came the fun part! It was time to add the American cut crystals to the chandelier. Since each bobeches has 5 pins to hold crystals, she needed 30 American cut crystals in the 38m size which sell for $.30 each. Here we noticed that the 14mm octagon had been replaced with a aqua octagon for added detail. These octagons sell for $.25 each and she needed 30 to complete the look. By adding 22 more American 38mm crystals to the chains of crystals she completed the top half of the replacement chandelier. Than we moved to the bottom half of the French bronze chandelier. Here she needed larger 50mm American clear crystals. By attaching 1 larger crystal to each center of the arm and an additional one to weigh down the swag, she only needed 12 at $.48 each. Since Cristalier crystals come with silver bowties and clips, she didn't need to order any additional metal parts. |
